Teaching with Mendix: How a WPI Professor Uses a Low-Code Platform to Help Facilitate Her Syllabus

By using the Mendix low-code platform, Professor Tulu, from Worcester Polytechnic Institute introduced a timely revision to her entire System Design & Development syllabus that allows her students with no prior programming experience to develop applications easily. Tulu tasked her students with developing a computer-based student job application system to enhance Foisie Business School’s management. After dividing them into teams of 4-5 members, Tulu’s students adopted Mendix’s Agile methodology and worked in sprints to deliver their systems within a fast-paced 11-week completion timeline. They conducted design planning through workshops, demonstrated their working prototypes and deployed all their working systems rapidly through Mendix’s consistent and stable development environment at scale.
