Octo Delivers Smart Building Insights with Low Code and AI
Octo, a ‘smart building’ solutions provider in the Netherlands, manages portfolios for construction stakeholders through strategic planning with their Mendix-made low-code platform. Initially extended with AWS services and built in Mendix, Octo’s platform provides valuable insights to their clients by scaling the Internet for public images and information regarding each client-owned property, which is actually more complex than it sounds. As a result, Octo’s founder, Dirk Huibers uses Mendix as a tool to adopt low-code technology into Octo’s operations to execute on precise data analysis and programming. Huibers also successfully streamlined the building maintenance strategies of Octo’s clients as they used Mendix’s cutting-edge image recognition and machine learning low-code features to expand on their building’s portfolios. Therefore, Mendix significantly improved on Octo’s ability to identify on specific criteria’s for their client’s construction querying options such as by specifying on window counts, roof type and listed addresses for a particular building.
